Happy Friday, friends!
School is out and it’s officially summer break in the Nunnery house. The kids had their last full day of co-op on Monday—with the most adorable kindergarten graduation ceremony, to boot—and then enjoyed field day with their friends on Wednesday. We don’t have a busy summer planned, but I do have a few ideas for how to keep the kids active and engaged during these quiet months, most of them involving a pool pass to the local aquatic center.
The end of May is always a crazy season, so I hope that for those of you who are still finishing up the school year the next few weeks go smoothly!
Have a great weekend, everyone. Thanks for being here.

Word of the Week ✍🏻
Githerments: (n.) a random assortment of un-matching things.
Point #1: Beauty is a Person.
If you click on nothing else I’ve shared this week, please read this exquisite essay from . I know well the feeling of creative envy and how it can trample the spirit, and Christina’s words shine a soft light on the longing behind the envy. We are all of us simply searching for God.
Point #2: “There is a sort of hierarchy of truths.”
This is a fantastic conversation with preeminent Anglican bishop and theologian, N.T. Wright where he discusses faith and works, the Eucharist, and more. (Thanks, YouTube algorithm!) N.T. Wright is a favorite in this house and I really appreciated the deep dive into some of the questions that are tumbling around in my own mind right now.
Point #3: Just do it!
I’m still getting along just fine with my Light Phone, and if you’ve considered going “dumb” but don’t want to go quite that far, this post from is a helpful segue into other options.
Point #4: “Every era, no matter how distant, was filled with lives as vivid and as complex as our own.”
I love nothing more than a peek into the history books.
Reading in The Nook 📚
I finished A Study in Drowning this week, which was a strange sort of fantasy novel, but a solid read overall. Now I’m thoroughly enjoying Peter Kreeft’s fascinating book Symbol or Substance, which is his attempt to imagine a conversation on faith—particularly on the Eucharist—between three great giants of Christendom: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Billy Graham. He does great justice to the Anglican and Protestant views, even though Kreeft himself is Catholic like Tolkien, and I cannot recommend this book enough!

“It is astonishing how short a time it takes for very wonderful things to happen.”
